Photography project

Participants in the photography project will experiment with still life, action, forms, shapes, outdoor and indoor photography among other styles.  During the course of the project, outdoor trips will be organised and learners will decide amongst themselves where they would like to visit and photograph.  They will also have the opportunity to print their photographs and frame some for an exhibition they will organise.

FilmstripThe project will give participants an opportunity to see their own lives and those around them through a lens and to become more aware of their surroundings and the things that touch them and affect them.  It is a holistic and organic experience which, we believe, will enrich their lives and how they view the world that surrounds them.  The project will also help participants discover which type of photography they would like to pursue for their business.

Participants will create and populate their own portfolios and learn basic presentation skills to be able to show and talk about their work.

Upon successful completion of the project (successful completion entails 80% attendance and submission of all projects.  Attendance to business sessions is mandatory), each participant will receive a 12 mp digital camera with 8GB memory, an 8GB memory stick, and computer imaging software.  We have been offered recycled laptops which we may be able to provide participants with if they do not have access to computers at home.
